Atomic Rooster

The Atomic Rooster has had a long and varied history. many members going in and out of the band.  But the wonderful sound that was the Rooster has always remained.

The Rooster was founded by the late British blues pianist Vincent Crane originally with British drummer Carl Palmer after Crane left The Crazy World of Arthur Brown which he had co-founded in 1966. I found this to be an interesting fact as I am a Carl Palmer fan and I did not know he was in the original Atomic Rooster.

The sound on this album “In Hearing Of The Atomic Rooster(1971)” is definably Rock. Its a smoother more polished professional sound that is great to follow.  The changes in the music are unexpected as was much of the music in the 70’s and to a degree it leans towards being prog rock.  But only to a degree.

The band was formed in 1970 and the first gig was with Deep Purple along side.  The band was disbanded in 1984, but it’s music is still pertinent. Good stuff and worth owning.
