I believe that we are headed for disaster. I’m not screaming we are doomed, but I think financially this nation is in very deep trouble.
Our federal legislatures are in deep stasis. The Republican Party has consistently refuse to take part in the running of this country.
The GOP has taken the tack that it will support corporations at all costs including the regulation of corporations such as banks and Wall Street entities. They continually vote against unemployment benefits for the people who are not working, and continually cry about jobs that make no effort to take part in jobs legislation.
the GOP consistently talks about big government. Yet they refuse to admit that the government does not have to be big to provide regulation to corporations who have no intentions of operating in the best interest of the country that they exist in. The banks on Wall Street have proven time and time again that they will have no part in doing the right thing in exchange for profit.
Most corporations today do not understand that they require people working to purchase their products. Today’s hiring practice includes hiring temporary workers who do not receive benefits and in many cases only work for 90 days when someone else is hired for the same position. That does absolutely nothing for the economy and is a self-fulfilling destructive practice for the corporation itself.
the Republicans are supporting the right-wing media by their silence. The right-wing media such as Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are going out of their way to lie and slander the Democrats and Pres. Obama in particular. Day after day the Republicans and the right wing media do nothing more than slam people using a racist and derogatory agenda. They are playing a very dangerous game in not taking part in pulling America out of the fiscal crisis that suspiciously occurred at the beginning of Obama’s term as president.
I am not much of a conspiratorial person, until now. There is no doubt in my mind that the Republicans supporting the right-wing media, creating the tea party and not taking part in our government is an orchestrated effort to get themselves back into power. The very same people who brought us the deregulation of the banks and corporations that cause the problems we are having. But if they think they can get back in power and all of a sudden pull his country out of its problems in my estimation they are sadly mistaken. Not to mention that if they do take back the house they will be introduced to a new party of no. They will probably get in return what they gave.
Further evidence of trouble?
Our military budget is more than all the rest of the world put together. Why does that have to be? it’s time for the United States to pull back its military and allow other countries to take care of themselves. It is no longer time for us to be spending our tax money on the protection of Europe and Asia. And that includes the Middle East. If a country in the Middle East decides to cause trouble, then the Middle East needs to take care of its own. That way we are not involved in the backlash.
And why is it that the most sophisticated military in the world has to spend the most on equipment that is absolutely of no use in the current type of wars that we fight? In Afghanistan and Iraq we didn’t need planes that cost $1 billion apiece. They are for all intents and purposes useless in the mountains. And yet we continue to spend that kind of money.
We are training the Afghanistan Army. It costs us $10 billion a year to support that military. Afghanistan has a gross national product of about $15 billion a year. That means that the United States will be supporting a military junta that will almost swallow the entire countries GNP. And what does that lend itself to one might ask. That means that we are supporting a military that is vastly larger than the government and open to corruption. Not only corruption but a takeover of the country removing any Democratic policies that we may install. For all intents and purposes we will be subsidizing the entire Afghanistan military. And to what end? Is Somalia and Yemen next? Are we going to go from country to country wherever the Taliban and Al Qaeda go and create vast new militaries in the Middle East?
It has already been proven that our efforts in Afghanistan and Pakistan have absolutely no affect on people coming here to try to bomb us. The Times Square bomber was from New York by way of Pakistan. He was trained in Pakistan and in giving the responsibility for the bombing here. No matter how much bombing we do in Pakistan it does not stop anyone from going there, getting trained and coming back. I do not see how we are doing anything to protect ourselves by going there and killing people. Instead I think we are creating more people who want to come here and kill us. That very same thing was proved in Iraq until we bribed enough people stop fighting us.
This is just a small part of what’s going on here. Our defense budget precludes our own people from being part of the civilized world and having healthcare. The Republicans fight against health care and fight for killing. The same analogy applies to the Christian conservatives here who think that gun ownership is the most important thing in the world, and the atheists who do not want anything to do with war.

“Let’s beat the other side to a pulp! Rep. Steve King, Republican of Iowa, shouted to the last stand of Tea Partiers on Sunday night. Let’s chase them down! There’s going to be a reckoning.”
This from a Republican senator after the Health Care Reform bill was passed.
This is an example of a person who needs to be in front of the ethics committee and led out of the Congress building.
This is how the republican party promotes anger and violence. There is no place for this in American politics.

Today. one day after the passing of the historic health care bill, the conservatives are now doing anything to block or repeal this bill.
On this day, the medical supply companys will increase production and productivity due to increasing demand for their products. The conservatives seem to hate this.
On this day the healthcare companies can create risk pools and start adding more people to their roles and making more money. conservatives seem to hate this.
On this day children up to the age of 26 can still have their parents insurance. conservatives dont like children.
On this day people who are diabetic and cant afford medicine can expect to survive a few more years. conservatives do not like this at all.
On this day people cannot be refused insurance and people cannot be dropped from insurance. conservatives dont like this at all,
On this day it is a huge step forward for preventative medicine in the US. conservatives are scared by this.
The list goes on and on. But today, the party of hate for its fellow citizens scored a big zero with the people of the US. On both sides of the fence. Greed lost out to compassion.
